The third part of the cycle „Moniuszko’s Chamber Salon” is the culmination of the cycle: a concert
dedicated to the songs of this great Polish composer. The talented young soprano Anna Zawisza and
the excellent young baritone Dawid Biwo will present selected songs from the collections „Śpiewnik
domowy” [“Home Songbook”]. In order to reflect the atmosphere of the 19th century „musical
salon”, a handful of instrumental miniatures, so popular at the time during social meetings combined
with home music-making, have also been introduced. The concert will feature compositions by Józef
Elsner and Karol Kurpioski for piano, and works by Henri Brod and Gaetano Donizetti will refer to the
domain of Moniuszko, i.e. opera. The singers will be accompanied by Katarzyna Pilipiuk on a copy of
the oboe from the first half of the 19th century and Anna Huszczo on a historical piano. We invite
you to the concert on 24th November 2019 at 6 p.m. at the Gallery of Polish Art of the 19th century
in the Cloth Hall – the Branch of the National Museum in Krakow on the Main Market Square 3.
