Patrick T. Slowinski returned to Poland to serve as the U.S. Consul General in Krakow in August of 2019. Mr. Slowinski was previously posted to Poland, where he served as a Vice-Consul at the U.S. Embassy in Warsaw.

His most recent overseas assignment was as Deputy Economic Counselor at the U.S Embassy in Moscow. A career member of the Foreign Service, Mr. Slowinski has represented U.S. interest abroad in Poland, Ukraine, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, and Russia.

He has also served in Washington D.C. as the Poland Desk Officer in the Office of Central European Affairs. Mr. Slowinski has extensive energy policy experience and served a Senior Energy Diplomacy Officer for Eurasia at the State Department’s Bureau of Energy Resources.

Mr. Slowinski also represented U.S. trade interests in his assignment and as Director for Central and South Asia at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, Executive Office of the President of the United States of America.

Mr. Slowinski has received numerous State Department Awards, including Superior Honor Awards and Meritorious Honor Awards. He also received meritorious step increase awards and a National Export Achievement Award for his commercial, economic, and trade efforts in Central Asia.

A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Mr. Slowinski holds a doctoral degree in education from Brigham Young University and a post-doctoral degree from Kansas State University. He speaks fluent French, Polish, Russian, and Ukrainian. Patrick has four children.
