Serię wykładów zainauguruje Janusz Makuch, założyciel i dyrektor FKŻ. Jego wykład zatytułowany Krew mojego brata głośno woła ku mnie z ziemi (Namiot FKŻ, godz. 15.00) pomoże Wam z pewnością lepiej zrozumieć tegoroczną edycję, jak też istotę FKŻ w ogóle. Tuż po wykładzie Janusza – spotkanie z podróżnikiem i filozofem Markiem Kamińskim (Namiot FKŻ, godz. 17.00). Zainaugurujemy również Pracownię Seniora warsztatami kreatywnego pisanie Loesje, a wieczorem – oficjalna inauguracja 29. FKŻ: Koncert Kantorów Śpiewaj Panu, ziemio cała. W synagodze Tempel tradycyjnie wystąpią kantorzy (Yoni Rose, Avraham Kirshenbaum i Israel Rand), ale towarzyszył będzie im w tym roku nie chór, ale … Orkiestra Stołecznego Królewskiego Miasta Krakowa Sinfonietta Cracovia pod dyrekcją Maestro Elli Jaffe (synagoga Tempel, godz. 19.00)

The Earth is a main theme of the 29th Jewish Culture Festival in Krakow. On Sunday we will start a series of lectures that will explain to you why we had chosen this topic and how complicated is relationship between a human and earth.

Janusz Makuch, founder and director of the Jewish Culture Festival in Krakow will deliver a lecture under the title My Brother’s Blood Is Crying Out to Me From the Ground (Tent, 15.00) which will give you his very personal insight to the festival’s idea this year. After his lecture we invite you to a meeting with world-known Polish traveler and philosopher Marek Kamiński: Timshel – From Genesis to Golem. On Sunday we will start a series of Workshops for Seniors with a creative writing classes with Loesje. Tempel synagogue will be a venue for an official inauguration of the festival:  Cantors’ Concert Sing To The Lord All The Earth will be performed by cantors (Yoni Rose, Avraham Kirshenbaum and Israel Rand), accompanied by the greatest Krakow’s chamber orchestra Sinfonietta Cracovia conducted by Maestro Elli Jaffe (Tempel synagogue, 19.00).
